I haven’t entered many Minted challenges since I had our son, but I am trying to get back into the groove now that I have created some sort of balance with work and motherhood. I always love the birth announcement challenges so I knew I wanted to submit designs to this one. Unfortunately, I was so busy with projects that I was only able to get two in before the deadline. But I think they are both strong contenders, whether they win or not. Here are my submissions below. Loving this vintage inspired bedroom and how the dark hues play nicely with the crisp whites. The artwork brings in a nature inspired palette and the plaid rug and pillows add a sophisticated touch. Between the stately palette and clean design, this space is perfect for everyday relaxing and reading, as well as catching some zzz’s.

This Saturday was really a day that will go down in history. Millions of people marched in protest for women’s rights, equality, and more. I wasn’t able to attend any of the events, but I was surely there in spirit. I am just so proud to be a woman and will fight till the end for our rights, as well as for equality among all. Here is a small collection of signs I found to be highly entertaining, not to mention clever. Some of the photos even brought a tear to my eye. Enjoy!
