This is the first post in a new series where every month I will showcase my favorite shop and some of the items I love. This is also a great opportunity to get inspired by the beautiful photographs each of them show to present the items they sell. So make sure you check back on the first of every month for new shop of the month!

West Elm has always been a love of mine. Their products are modern, fresh and natural. Their minimalist style shown through the design of their products as well as their photography is like a breath of fresh air. You can find lots of inspiration in their catalogs, which are also smartly designed. I recommend you sign up for their mailing list.

I am currently redesigning my resume and while looking for inspiration, I came across some awesome designs. These are some of my faves because they push the envelope with graphics, color and typography. Because of this, they get your attention and that is what you want your resume to do.

You know, just because its a resume, that doesn’t mean it can’t look colorful or lively. It should reflect who you are and what type of work you do. If you are an illustrator, show some of your skills with some creative drawings. If photography is what you do then showcase a cool photo. No matter what field you are in, be smart with type and keep the information organized enough so it is easy to read. Remember, most employers don’t spend more than a minute or two looking over a resume. So you want yours to stop them in their tracks and get interested.

I hope you get some inspiration from these picks. They are certainly worthy of a double take or more!

Inspirational Entryways

The space you first walk into when entering a home is crucial to the rest of the design. It should be a warm welcome and an introduction to what is next. Here are some beautiful entryways I love in hopes to inspire the designer in all of you.

I love the warmth this entryway brings to the space. The bench also provides a nice spot to sit and take off your shoes to get comfy.

Entryways

What a fun and whimsy space. Its always nice to add touches of happy.

Love the natural feel of this space and the addition of greenery.

Adrienne Vita is an artist from Portland who studied animation and design. Her organic illustrations really got my attention not only because they are unique but colorful as well. Look to her work for inspiration on designing cheerful events such as weddings, birthdays and celebrations. The combinations of color she uses go so well with each other which makes the piece even that more awesome.

Check out her shop on Etsy, Arcane Arts, to see more of her work!
