Happy Tuesday! This week in our nature study the theme is a field trip but I wanted to teach Elliot more about birds, as we ease into Nesting Birds for next weeks study. So we started by reading A Place for Birds by Melissa Stewart and then practiced the letter B, colored a BIRDS letter sheet, completed a cut & paste worksheet, did some shadow matching, and practiced numbers with our count and clip cards (@sosimpleabeginning).We also looked at some birds in The Atlas of Amazing Birds by Matt Sewell, which is a gorgeous book, and Elliot had fun doing his birdseed activity (idea from @littlepinelearners) while we listened to many different bird sounds on my Merlin Bird ID app. The shadow matching worksheet is a new design from my bird unit which will be available to download for free this week! In the meantime, you can check out what I am offering now by visiting https://www.graystardesign.com/homeschool.

A fun little flyer I created last week for Patti Green to promote the Passport to the World Club wellness classes. Am I the only one who loves these colors?

Today Elliot and I are staying in and keeping cozy. Moving on with our evergreen study we read Let’s Visit the Evergreen Forest by Buffy Silverman and colored some trees for our journal. Then Elliot practiced letters with clip cards by @whimsyprintables, numbers and shadow matching. For our little art session he did a pine needle painting and I finished my evergreen plaque with some watercolors. Time to eat lunch!

Our afternoon lesson is always pretty quick. We started by reading Where Would I Be in an Evergreen Tree? by Jennifer Blomgren and created our own pine tree with needles. Elliot also practiced colors with a worksheet from @pmlib and a cut/paste SNOW worksheet. That’s a wrap on Evergreens!
