It’s Winter Tree week! This morning Elliot and I read Winter Trees by Carole Gerber and he whizzed through a few seasonal themed worksheets and a fun sticker shape activity. Then we created a snow tree with twigs and a glue/shaving cream mix (@magichomeschoolbus). So cute! Trees are awesome and we are always excited to learn more about them.

This afternoon we learned about all the full moon names for each month from Full Moon Lore by Ellen Wahi and Elliot created his own night sky. I also used a moon chart by @the.silvan.reverie as a little guide.

This morning for our nature study we read Moon by Steve Tomecek and completed a mosaic project of the phases of the moon with a reference guide from @brighterdaypress. I used thick cardstock and dried beans and plan on keeping them for future lessons. Elliot also did a few worksheets to practice writing and counting. The moon is simply amazing and we love learning about it.

This afternoon we spent some time outside and then learned a little more about the moon. After reading Moon by Brittany Teckentrup, Elliot completed some themed worksheets, colored a MOON letter sheet and drew a moon in our nature journal. We also read more into how the moon was formed in The Kids Book of the Night Sky by Anne Love & Jane Drake. Such a cool book!
