A sneak peek into a pretty cool project I wrapped up recently for Patti Green that will be distributed to the kids in the Buffalo, NY school district. They are partnering with the Police Athletic League to offer a happy and healthy summer program for 2 months and this journal is something they will use to track their daily success. I’m super excited and hope they all enjoy using it!

Wrapped up another website this week for @musicaljourneysny and was so happy to help Rebecca give her business an upgrade! We kept it simple with pops of her color palette and included all the necessary info for clients. I was excited when Rebecca reached out to me a few months ago about the project and couldn’t wait to get started. Helping local businesses is something I strive to do so finalizing this project means a lot. And the fact that she loves it and enjoyed working with me makes all the difference. If you live in Long Island/Suffolk County and looking for music lessons don’t hesitate to reach out to Rebecca! She’s super talented and so sweet. Visit musicaljourneysny.com to learn more.

A little peek into our vegetable garden, aka: my happy place. So far everything I planted is thriving and it’s just so gratifying. We have lettuce, broccoli, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, basil, parsley and cilantro. Lots of our favorite things to eat. Growing food, or just about anything for that matter, has been such a love of mine. And lately I’ve felt a calling to be closer to the earth and plant all the things. I have a vision… and dream that one day hopefully soon we will have a little farm on our property. It will be filled with tons of vegetables and fruits, along with flowers. I imagine it being a beautiful and magical place, as our small garden is now, and becomes a local spot for organic produce around our town. I don’t know all the legal hoops to get to that point but it’s something I would like to work toward. I truly enjoy doing this so much and Gray Star Farms doesn’t seem so silly to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyway, just wanted to share a special place I love with you all. I come out here every morning and throughout the day to water and observe and then at night one last time before our day is done. It’s a big part of my daily routine. I am so grateful to have the space to bring this garden to life and proud of what we created. Nature will always have a place in my heart.

This year has been eye opening for me. It started off bad, took a turn for the worse, and now I’m left with disheartening views and such a bitter feeling toward this country and the people living in it. It’s unfortunate but everything happens for a reason.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I usually speak my mind no matter what. Always. But lately I’ve been taking a step back a bit to observe what’s going on around me. Seeing with my own eyes how people are treating others and how they use words to sadly show their true colors. The lack of understanding and empathy out there is pretty sad. And I don’t want any part of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I tell myself, this is NOT okay. This is NOT fine. So I tune it out because I can’t have that crap in my life. I know I cannot change the world. But I can create how I want my life to be by living MY truth. And in doing that I release positive energy into the world around me. That is how you birth change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My happiness allows more love and kindness to bloom around me. And isn’t that what we need most? Personally, I am so over a lot of shit going on in the world. But all I can do is move forward because life doesn’t just stop. We can pause for a bit to rest… but we must get back up. Nothing changes if you stand still too long. And change is essential.
