This year has been eye opening for me. It started off bad, took a turn for the worse, and now I’m left with disheartening views and such a bitter feeling toward this country and the people living in it. It’s unfortunate but everything happens for a reason.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I usually speak my mind no matter what. Always. But lately I’ve been taking a step back a bit to observe what’s going on around me. Seeing with my own eyes how people are treating others and how they use words to sadly show their true colors. The lack of understanding and empathy out there is pretty sad. And I don’t want any part of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I tell myself, this is NOT okay. This is NOT fine. So I tune it out because I can’t have that crap in my life. I know I cannot change the world. But I can create how I want my life to be by living MY truth. And in doing that I release positive energy into the world around me. That is how you birth change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My happiness allows more love and kindness to bloom around me. And isn’t that what we need most? Personally, I am so over a lot of shit going on in the world. But all I can do is move forward because life doesn’t just stop. We can pause for a bit to rest… but we must get back up. Nothing changes if you stand still too long. And change is essential.

Lately, I’ve been feeling pulled into service a lot more. Supporting and helping people who truly need it. This has always been a way of life for me, giving to others, being kind and spreading the love. But these past few months have sort of channeled the giver in me and I just want to do so much more. I don’t have much money but I donate and send gifts when I can. I’m pretty busy but I try to share my time when others need it. I’m growing my business but I often discount my services and offer freebies here and there. I just want to bring sunshine to peoples lives and help light up those souls who need it most. And I am thinking up more ways do just that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This year hasn’t been easy. I dealt with and still am dealing with personal issues. I have friends going through their own challenges that range from health issues to losing loved ones. We are all fighting some type of battle, big or small. And with support, encouragement, and kindness, we can make a difference in how those battles turn out. People need each other. We weren’t meant to go through anything alone. We are all connected. And there is no better time than now to open your heart to the ones who need it, want it and deserve it. During my break, I am going to come up with ways to help my community more and help lift up the people I love. What are ways you can spread more kindness? The way I see it, giving is always a win-win.

unscriptedhugs promo

We all know a woman who needs a hug. A woman who is facing a new challenge in life, or who is haunted by an old one. A woman who is working hard to bring joy and purpose into every day, but is being dragged down by unrealistic expectations of perfection, and busybusybusy.

I am so excited to team up with (Un)Scripted to bring ‪#‎unscriptedhugs‬ to the women who need them.

We both believe in the healing power of touch and that hugs heal our hurts. The connection we all have with each other matters deeply and through being vulnerable and real with one another we can lift each other up and empower each other to live beautiful, authentic lives.

Since we can’t physically hug every woman who needs one, we came up with a way to connect with you, and be in it with you, and let you know that you are valuable and loved, exactly as you are.

This is how #unscriptedhugs works:
– You nominate the women in your life who could use a little extra encouragement, support, and kindness via the form at bit.ly/unscriptedhugs.
– One woman per month will be chosen to receive a small care package filled with handmade goodies from only the most awesome and woman-friendly creative makers intended to brighten her day with love and joy!
– Everyone who is nominated will receive an email with an exclusive downloadable art print from (Un)Scripted and a message of love, letting her know she was nominated for #unscriptedhugs.

We all know a woman who needs a hug. Nominate her today!
