This afternoon we spent some time outside and then learned a little more about the moon. After reading Moon by Brittany Teckentrup, Elliot completed some themed worksheets, colored a MOON letter sheet and drew a moon in our nature journal. We also read more into how the moon was formed in The Kids Book of the Night Sky by Anne Love & Jane Drake. Such a cool book!

It’s moon week in our nature study! Elliot and I started our lesson by reading The Moon Book by Gail Gibbons and worked on some themed worksheets. Then studied the phases of the moon with a print from @brighterdaypress and used felt to mark them on a chart I created. We are diving into all things night sky over here.

This afternoon was a bit busy and we didn’t have much time to do what I planned but we were able to read Little Mole’s Wish by Sang-Keun Kim, which is an adorable story, and completed a rocket page in our sticker shape book.

After our nature hike and some down time we had a snack and read Winter is for Snow by Robert Neubecker. Then colored a letter sheet and practiced drawing snowflake shapes. Elliot was pretty done for the day but I created two paper snowflakes and had him make a few cuts.
