I am super excited to finally be done with my rebrand and website! After a few years of going nowhere with this project I decided to give myself a timeline and do it. And I did. Fresh logo, updated color palette, and redesigned website – done! Feel free to check it out and take a look around. And if you’re up for it share your thoughts. I am sooo happy to check this off my list. Yay!

I feel so lucky to be able to create for a living. Art and design was the only thing I ever wanted to do. And now, being self employed and running Gray Star Design I am so damn grateful for my journey. And the bonus? My clients. I have worked with some awesome people and the fact that my client base are mostly women, just makes my job even more special. From therapists and yoga instructors to coaches and professionals in the wellness field, these women are on a mission. And they are surely making a difference in the world. Bringing beauty to their business and helping it grow through design is my gift to them. Working alongside these badass ladies really means the world to me. And their kind words not only make me smile, they light up my soul. It tells me I’m right where I need to be and this was what I was born to do. To read some testimonials you can visit bit.ly/graystarlients and see why people enjoy working with me.

Life isn’t a competition. We all have unique talents and personalities and that’s what separates us from everyone else. When it comes to the design field, I’ve never felt I needed to be better than anyone else or that anyone was better than me. But at the same time I accepted that some could do certain things better than I could and that was fine. Still is. Artists are all on the same team and we should always support each other. We have a special job to do and that’s to bring more beauty to the world. We should not be competing with each other.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That being said – we must also know what it is that helps us stand out among the rest. Because we want to show potential clients how good we are at what we do and grow our business. It’s smart to focus on your best skills and market those the most so people who need those type of services can pick you out faster. And this allows for more experience, which in turn helps you to bloom even more beautifully.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s always been hard for me to choose a niche in the arts because I love to do so much in the field. Even when I was studying design I had a hard time deciding my major. It took me awhile but I finally graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design. This allowed me to take a bunch of fine art classes to strengthen my drawing and painting skills while also gaining knowledge in graphic arts and photography. I saw it as the best of both worlds. And even though I focus on marketing and branding, having the history of illustration, photography and creative writing on my side I find it’s very beneficial to my business to have a well rounded education in the arts. Not to mention, decades of professional experience in the design field. And this, plus my personality and work ethic, is what makes me stand out from the rest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So if your business needs an upgrade or you’re starting out fresh and you’re looking for a designer who is experienced, efficient, and easy to work with then contact me today and we can chat.
