Our Gender Reveal

This weekend my husband and I had family over our house for a gender reveal and it was such a fun day. We actually had the ultrasound the Tuesday before so waiting and thinking of our little one took a lot of patience.

It's a BOY!

This whole time I really thought it was a girl, as did my husband and so many other people. The feeling I got when I saw our baby the second time at 12 weeks was totally girl. I felt as if I was looking at a little me, as weird as that may sound. Maybe the fact that I have always dreamt of having a little girl had some influence on that feeling, but nevertheless, we both were on the same page. Even though my husband would LOVE to have a little boy.

Then as I looked again at 16 weeks, I felt a little different. It was the first time I thought it could be a boy. My husband felt the same but we didn’t really talk about it much. We were both just anxious and excited for Saturday to come to find out!

So there we were, standing together, surrounded by family. I purchase two cards from a great artist, Genevieve Santos, on Etsy to help with the reveal. One had a boy on it and other a girl. They were actually Valentine’s Day cards but they seemed so perfect for this event. And since I had cupcakes, I bought a cute reveal banner from Loop Loft on Etsy as well. Everything was so cute.

It's a BOY!

Then it was time to open the envelope! I was so nervous, lol. As soon as I started to pull out the card, I was in shock. It’s a BOY!!! I looked at my husband with a smile and  we all cheered with joy. It really was an exciting moment.

It took me a few days for the news to settle in. It wasn’t that I didn’t want a boy, I just always imagined having a girl so this was a totally new feeling. But now I am so excited and every day I think about our future son and who he will be. Things like this are out of our control and us having a boy was just meant to be. So I accept this gift with love and plan to enjoy the next five months of pregnancy with him close to my heart immensely.

We can’t wait to meet our little boy! Oh what a sweet and awesome kid he will be 🙂

This month friends and family gathered at my cousins’ girlfriends baby shower to celebrate their little girl on the way. I helped out by designing the invites as well as most of the event stationery. The dessert table was beautifully laid out by the talented Christine from Coco’s Customs, a friend (and relative of my cousin’s side of the family), that I have had the pleasure of working with before. Everything came out so nice and the mother to be, again, was super excited and thankful. Needless to say, they received everything they will need for the new addition and I wish them tons of amazing years ahead as a family of four. Here are some shots from the day. Enjoy!

This past Saturday, family and friends gathered at my aunt’s house to celebrate the arrival of my cousin’s first child. Her and her husband are having a little girl and everyone is so excited. They are expecting her January 2, what a nice gift for the new year!

The invitations were a nice mix of pastels and modern touches. I was so happy she came to me to design them for her. It was fun creating a custom piece with her ideas and bringing them to life. I also designed her thank you’s which reflected the same style. You can find both in my shop!

The shower was coordinated by my aunt Debbie, who did such an amazing job. From the delicious food and desserts to all the small details, the event was beautiful from every angle. Purple, pink, and teal were the inspirational colors and each were sprinkled around the house for an overall modern and pretty style. The little hand cut paper bows I made were scattered throughout as well.

Pink chevron table runners adorned the tables in the tented area along with a mix of fresh spring flowers and candles.

They received so many gorgeous gifts! It’s safe to say they will have all the baby products they need and more. I always enjoy seeing how people wrap their presents and what kinds of paper they use. There were an interesting array of different colors, patterns, and boxes used which brought so much life to the space.

I created little signs that reflected the design of the invitations to describe all the sandwiches and other food options. Some were attached to pastel paper straws and others were tented.

There were an array of desserts from homemade cookies, fruit, tiny donuts, and the cutest cake ever. All were delicious!

Everyone left with a bath bomb all packaged up and tied with thank you tags I designed and of course another sign. I can’t wait to use mine!

All in all, it was such a nice day with all the lovely ladies in my cousin’s life. I am extremely happy for her and her husband and wish them only the best future as new parents.
