Claire la Faye

Claire la Faye is one of my favorite bridal designers because she creates gowns that are unique, beautiful, romantic and simply lovely. Her work screams glam without all the drama and glitz, which is hard to come by. I have never worn one of her dresses but I can imagine you feel like a queen floating on clouds. Maybe one day I will have the honor but until then, I am in awe.

Graduating from Parsons School of Design in NYC, Claire’s career evolved from a line of reconsructed tee’s and soon enough, success was knocking at her door. Because her bridal line is so skillfully made and uniquely created, you wouldn’t think she entered the wedding curcuit just two years ago. But thanks to her, non traditional brides everywhere can wear her whimsical pieces and not only feel on the top of the world but prove like heavan is a place on earth.

Today Claire lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Here are some of my favorite gowns that are simply irresistable.

Wedding Day Face Off

Lets face it, everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day. Some want to get all done up and others rather look natural and more like themselves. There are so many options and looks you can choose from. It all depends on what you want and what your theme is.

Make sure you pick someone who knows what you want and is good at what they do. Regardless of taste, you shouldn’t look like you have it caked on. I was very lucky to have my friend Jennifer Lombardo do my makeup for my wedding. She is seriously awesome at what she does and I thank her for making me look gorgeous. She just got back from fashion week a few weeks ago, how exciting! I always say, a bride should look like a flawless version of herself. That is exactly what Jen did. She made me look flawless and it lasted all day.

Personally, I don’t feel you should be covered in makeup. Less is always more. But thats me. I know when you have a certain theme its hard to be natural, especially if you’re going glam or have decided to go with a certain time period. However, your true beauty should shine through and with tons of makeup thats hard. If you choose someone who is excellent at the craft then you should be fine. Have fun and be comfortable, thats the most important thing.

Here are some inspirational face off’s for your big day along with a few people I know that seriously looked gorgeous on their wedding day. Enjoy!

Jenny Packham Goodness

There are so many places to look for a wedding dress and thousands of designers out there who are talented. Its just a matter of doing your research and finding that one special dress you love. One of my favorite designers is UK mastermind, Jenny Packham. I love her gowns because they have a vintage flair and impeccable detail. If you don’t know by now, I feel it all comes down to the details. If you agree, than Packham’s designs will blow your mind.

Here are my faves from her collections. Hope they inspire all you brides out there. Maybe one day I will get to try one one. In my dreams!
