It’s no secret I love animals and adore all the little earthlings that come visit our property. The birds have been quite an obsession for me and as I learn more about them I only love them more. They are so interesting and really are amazing. Lately I’ve been taking some time in the morning and evening to observe and take photos of our little friends. I could sit outside all day and watch them but #life. Here are some pictures I’ve been able to get this week so far. Say hello to the Northern Mockingbird, Carolina Wren, and Mourning Doves that hang out here. I love them all and can’t wait to get more photos soon.

I feel that how you choose to start your day can have an effect on how it ends. And that means from the moment you wake up. How are you feeling? Who do you interact with? What do you read or watch? What do you eat? Where are you? These are all factors that will help play out your day and direct you down a particular path.

This morning I decided to drink my tea outside and listen to the birds. I walked out to two blue jays looking for food then focused on what was around me. So many beautiful sounds. I sat on our patio steps and just took them all in, as I watched a cardinal and a mourning dove find seeds on the grass. The leaves slowly fell from the trees as squirrels jumped from the branches and a variety of birds perched from flying. I appreciated the faint cool breeze that kissed my skin. I looked up as a few seagulls flew over our home and listened as they talked to each other and heard geese in the distance. This was the kind of morning I need everyday. Peaceful, calm and with nature. It just puts so many things into perspective.

This feeling I have right now is something I never want to end. Mother Earth is and will always be my sanctuary. Happy Sunday!

It’s no secret I love animals. And here at our house I try to do al I can so all the earthlings who visit are comfortable, fed and happy. We have a handful of bird feeders around for our flying friends and I’ve been learning so much about the species who come. It’s pretty awesome. And we also have a squirrel feeder so maybe the cuties will stop bombarding the birds spaces, lol. In any case, I leave special treats for them there. We had a box turtle hanging out on the side of our house for awhile but I’m not sure he’s there anymore. I welcome all animals and enjoy seeing them daily. @ashlieredmond was just talking about how we need to surround ourselves with beauty right now. And that’s exactly what I’m doing. Inviting these beautiful creatures to our property so I can continue to be filled with joy. I just love each and every one of them.

It’s been a long few weeks working on projects and dealing with deadlines so I needed a day to just have some fun. Lately, I’ve been working weekends but it was time for a break. My mom, Elliot and I visited an awesome zoo in our area and it was cool to explore a new place and be around animals. They always make me smile. And even though I dealt with tantrums and someone not listening 🙄 I tried my best to enjoy my time there. The baby goats nipping at my clothes was funny and I’m always excited to see piggies. But the monkeys, wallaby, camel, horses, donkeys and other cool earthlings were a nice surprise. I am definitely looking forward to going back soon. For now, I’m going to sit back, eat some yummy vegan sushi and relax for the night. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
