Floral Arrangements for a Spring Wedding

So tomorrow is the big day. I’m getting married! My fiancé and I are so excited that our special day is finally upon us. One more day and we will be husband and wife. Awesome. I have been working so hard to put this event together that I feel like a factory worker! Especially this week. Everyday I have had something to make but today I finally get to be the bride and relax.

One thing I really enjoyed creating was the bouquets. I have a small wedding party so it was just mine and my maid of honor who needed one but it wasn’t a small task by any means. But I am happy they are done and they came out beautiful. I am in love! To send inspiration your way, I wanted to show you some floral arrangements I think are simply gorgeous. Hope they make you smile and inspire something wonderful for your wedding or event.

The next time we speak I will be a wife! Woohoo!!

Etsy Weddings Rule

There are so many things one has to think about and plan when getting married. Between the kind of event you will have to all the many details that are involved, you could seriously drive yourself crazy! Its great there are so many resources out there for information and inspiration but sometimes that could make it more difficult. Too many choices can be overwhelming.

Well, since I am a big fan of Etsy and have a shop on there myself, I wanted to write a post about their Weddings and Registry section. I swear, this is one of the best things to come along since Martha Stewart Weddings! If you love unique handmade goods and live an indie lifestyle, than Etsy is right up your alley. Not only can you find amazing and beautiful items and accessories, you will be supporting artists who love what they do instead of large companies who certainly don’t need it.

Etsy Weddings has everything organized to perfection. From paper goods and decor to dresses, rings and accessories, you will find it all here with ease. Everything you need in one place! Even outfits and accessories for your wedding party. Just when you thought that was enough, there are plenty of blogs, stories, advice and real weddings you can read about. This is the placce to be when planning a wedding.

The Etsy Registry is so easy to navigate. All you have to do is sign up and pick the items you love. How much fun! I wanted to share some of my favorite finds from each of the categories. I hope you can all get some inspiration from them or even purchase a few for yourself or a friend. Here we go!

DIY Wedding – Quick Tips

Planning a wedding can be very stressful if you aren’t prepared. As I plan my own DIY wedding, I thought it would be great to share some things I’ve learned as well as give tips and advice for all you newbies out there doing the same. Even if you’re not getting married, you can share this info with someone you know who is or even use it for other events you plan on having in the future.

The first thing you must figure out is your budget. Having a large budget for your big day can make things easier because you can hire help and choose places that include it with their services. However, what happens if you don’t have a lot of money? DIY weddings aren’t as scary as you may think. If you’re prepared and ready to get creative, then it can be a blast.

Being organized is most important. Having a folder or journal will certainly help in this department. Keep all papers together and use the journal to hold inspiration that you find along the way. Cut photos from magazines, write down ideas and create a checklist of things you need to get done so you stay on track. Try to create a timeline of when you want to get things done and stick to that schedule. This will make all the difference.

DIY Wedding - Quick Tips

Then, start figuring out what you need. Sometimes it’s not necessary to have certain things. Maybe having a DJ doesn’t really fit your budget. Fine. Remember, there is no right way to have a wedding. It’s your day and it should reflect who you and your fiancé are. It’s just silly to feel pressure when this is something you should be excited about.

DIY Wedding - Quick Tips

{Unique centerpieces don’t have to be pricey. There are a lot of affordable flowers you can use and tons of different ways to present them. Think of other items you include so you don’t spend tons on flowers.}

DIY Wedding - Quick Tips

{Incorporate items that mean a lot to you so the even is more personal}

Now its time to do some research. I did months of it before I was even engaged! Now that I have 3 weeks to go I feel confident in my decisions. Looking into venues, caterers, flowers, décor and favors is a lot to do and it will take up a lot of your time. But it’s supposed to. You will feel comfortable knowing you looked into all your options and chose what is best for you in the end.

{Wedding magazines are great for inspiration but don’t hesitate to look in other places too}

{There are so many great blogs out there for inspiration. Definitely take the time to search through some of them for ideas}

DIY Wedding - Quick Tips

{Always test the food you plan on serving! We have decided to go with cupcakes instead of a cake and you bet we tried them first}

If you stick with these tips, it will surely help you along your journey. Always try to get the best deals and don’t overwork yourself. By starting ahead of time, you will get it all done before the wedding and that will be a huge relief. Just breathe and stay focused and your DIY wedding will truly be unique and amazing.
