This week in our nature study we are supposed to take a little break so I decided to teach Elliot a little about gardening today. We read Tiny Green Thumbs by C.Z. Guest, completed some worksheets from a cute garden unit (he colored the veggies and I colored the bugs), and practiced some numbers with new bug count and clip cards (both from @morningstogether). Then we planted a few Zinnia seeds to observe. Keeping it easy and fun today.

This morning we continued with our nature study and read some cool books, practiced our letters, did a sticker activity, and had fun tracing spirals for some line work practice. Elliot also colored a snail drawing and we made little snails from clay and shells from our collection.

The Birds

It’s no secret I love animals and adore all the little earthlings that come visit our property. The birds have been quite an obsession for me and as I learn more about them I only love them more. They are so interesting and really are amazing. Lately I’ve been taking some time in the morning and evening to observe and take photos of our little friends. I could sit outside all day and watch them but #life. Here are some pictures I’ve been able to get this week so far. Say hello to the Northern Mockingbird, Carolina Wren, and Mourning Doves that hang out here. I love them all and can’t wait to get more photos soon.
