I am so grateful to call this studio mine. For years I worked out of a home office in all the places I’ve lived and once we had a child I felt it was time to have a space of my own. Now I am able to grow my business in more ways than I ever could and I can work in peace. It truly is my escape. It took a long time for me to get here but I did it. Never give up on your goals and dreams. NEVER. When you are passionate about something, as I am about art and design, put all of yourself into it and work hard at achieving the success you hope for. Design has and always will be the one thing that keeps me moving. The one thing that makes me feel alive. I am wholeheartedly thankful I found a home through creative expression. It’s an amazing feeling to know you are doing what you were born to do.

This year has been eye opening for me. It started off bad, took a turn for the worse, and now I’m left with disheartening views and such a bitter feeling toward this country and the people living in it. It’s unfortunate but everything happens for a reason.

I usually speak my mind no matter what. Always. But lately I’ve been taking a step back a bit to observe what’s going on around me. Seeing with my own eyes how people are treating others and how they use words to sadly show their true colors. The lack of understanding and empathy out there is pretty sad. And I don’t want any part of it.

I tell myself, this is NOT okay. This is NOT fine. So I tune it out because I can’t have that crap in my life. I know I cannot change the world. But I can create how I want my life to be by living MY truth. And in doing that I release positive energy into the world around me. That is how you birth change.

My happiness allows more love and kindness to bloom around me. And isn’t that what we need most? Personally, I am so over a lot of shit going on in the world. But all I can do is move forward because life doesn’t just stop. We can pause for a bit to rest… but we must get back up. Nothing changes if you stand still too long. And change is essential.

Focus on the Good

There is only one thing to focus on and it’s the good in your life. Don’t let this whole mess bring you down. Realistically, it’s an inevitable situation… people will get sick. And it’s not going to go away. So take care of yourself and take control of your health. That is the best weapon. Do your best to enjoy each day with a smile and be grateful for all the good. Because there is still good to be thankful for.

We all need a little isolation from time to time. It’s good for the soul to go inward and give yourself the space to just be. Now is a good time to do just that. This current situation is bringing a lot of issues to light. And it’s certainly a time to be aware. I believe there is much more to this virus and although it’s hard for some, we must not let it drag us down. We all need to be strong, brave and resilient to come out on top. And the one thing that will allow each of us to do that is to be fearless. The fear I see people expressing is what I’m most worried about and it’s the one thing that will destroy us all. Don’t let anyone or anything push you to live in fear. Because it will eventually crush you and make the situation much worse, for everyone. I refuse to let fear control me. The only thing I can do is adjust my flow and be positive. As long as I keep moving forward I will be fine. And life does go on. It may feel like the twilight zone right now but underneath it all change is being birthed from the madness. So be strong and focus on the good things in your life. Enjoy your days as best you can. Reach out to nature for support. Stop inviting negativity, lies and sadness in your space. Never mind the stories. It’s enough. Be the light the world needs… and we will get through this just fine ✨
