I took this photo in Mystic, Connecticut while Dan and I were visiting the area. I love this place. The seaport is one of the coolest places to go, so taking photographs is a must for sure. Besides the texture and color of the wood, I thought this dock house was really a nice element among the backdrop of the sea. The rustic bench placed oh so perfectly under the window was such a nice touch as well. I imagine a fisherman or some type of port worker sitting here on their lunch break, eating a sandwich, enjoying a peaceful moment in their busy day. I sat there for a few minutes myself to rest and I must say, what a calm place to be, just sitting by the sea.

An Island Full of Inspiration

My husband, Dan and I are planning our honeymoon in the fall and I can’t tell you how excited I am. We haven’t been on a vacation since our trip to Maine back in 2009 so you can imagine how much we are looking forward to getting away. Our destination is Prince Edward Island in Canada, a pretty cool road trip if I say so myself. I can’t wait to pack up the car, buckle Olive up and set on our way! And by then we will probably have adopted our new dog so it will be our first vacation with our new family member as well.

I wanted to share a few of the beautiful sights PEI has to offer because they are truly inspiring in every sense. I can’t get enough of nature and since we will be traveling in late September, it will be our favorite season as well. You can’t get any better than that.

I can almost feel the crisp clean air in my chest and the cool breeze from the sea. I feel so lucky to be able to visit such an amazing place. So sit back and take in the gorgeous views. I know I certainly will 🙂

Theme Ideas for Weddings

Having a theme for your wedding, event or party can sometimes make it easier to decorate. But it’s also easy to go overboard. There is room to get creative though. Here are some great examples of themed events done right. I wish I was there to see them!

Movie time is a great idea. Everyone can get comfy and you can design the space with all sorts of props.

The renaissance theme is also nice for events that are a bit fancier. Look for lots of silver and metal items and romantic flowers for that touch of pretty.

For those who love camping and the great outdoors, an outside cookout or sleepover would work really well. Anything nature related can really be an adventure to put together. There are so many possibilities. From woodland and garden to the galaxy, they all could be so much fun!

Get crazy with the carnival theme and really show your guests a good time! Just imagine if you were able to rent out a theme park for the day. So cool.

Pick an era you love and go with it.

If you love to travel or met your fiancé while exploring the world, than a global theme would fit nicely.

If books are adored by you and your sweet love than a library theme will suit you both.

If you both are smarty pants or met in school, than why not a school theme? You can have so much fun with this one.
