The sci-fi film, The Fifth Element, is one filled with adventure and fantasy. Based on a story by Luc Besson, the film takes you on a journey set in the future where unique creatures and characters bring the screenplay to life. The setting and cinematography is superb. With its vibrant color scheme set against old time city neutrals, its a nice mix of a futuristic feel and everyday reality.

The story brings a taxi cab driver and the supreme being together to save the world. Learning about each other and themselves throughout the journey is where love is born. The creative characters we meet along the way keep us wanting more and the brilliant special effects are on point every time. This fantastic exploration of life, love and good & evil is what makes The Fifth Element one you shouldn’t miss. If the colorful scenes don’t capture you from the start, I don’t know what will.

James and the Giant Peach is a classic film for children and people of all ages. Tim Burton brings this amazing story to life and allows us all to visit a place where our imaginations can soar. Originally written by Roald Dahl, James is stuck living with his mean aunts when his parents pass away. After some time, he meets a little man outside who gives him a secret potion. Unfortunately, James spills it all over the peach tree by accident but to his surprise the peach brings him a way to escape, explore and find happiness.

With all his little insect friends, he travels the high seas to find his way to New York City. Their journey is full of adventure and amazement. The color scheme used is full of life and holds a childlike feel, taking us all on the exciting trip with James we will never forget.

One Hour Photo is a psychological look into obsession. The film’s main character, Sy, works at a one hour photo lab in a large department store and begins to become infatuated with a family who gets their photos developed there. Due to his quiet, lonely life, he finds himself getting involved with family issues to protect the wife of the family.

What starts off as a caring gesture becomes a haunting and deadly situation. The clinical feel of the film with its bright whites and cold blues allows to viewer to feel the numbness you can imagine Sy feels while at the same time feeling discomfort from the events that unfold.
