Snail Mail Inspiration

I know many people don’t send letters anymore but there is nothing like receiving a handwritten note from someone you care about. When it comes to event invites and wedding items, creating a beautiful envelope is part of the whole experience.

One simple way to jazz them up is by using special stamps. I personally love vintage postal items because they really created some awesome designs back in the day. However, you can still find some really nice ones that are printed today. Here are some inspirations of old and new stamps that can really make or break an invite’s presentation.

These first few can all be found at USPS.com.

Bomobob’s work is dreamy, whimsy and always seems to bring you back to childhood. I have featured him before but planned on sharing more of his photographs in my palettes. This Canadian artist has a keen eye for beauty and showcases his vision through color, fantasy and unique perspective. Some of the main reasons I love his work.

The photo featured here, Bokeh Go Round, has a vintage feel and childlike charm. Who doesn’t love carnivals? I certainly do! The colors in this piece are soft and feminine with a mature sensibility. The blues and purples provide a backdrop of cloudy pillows and fluttering hearts while the carrousel stands strong adding interest and character. This is one of my favorites for sure.

This palette can be used for any children’s party as well as spring weddings. Even having a fall wedding would work as long as you stick with pastels. The autumn scenery would make a beautiful background as well. These natural toned hues are pretty enough for a girl, yet masculine enough for any groom.

Theme Ideas for Weddings

Having a theme for your wedding, event or party can sometimes make it easier to decorate. But it’s also easy to go overboard. There is room to get creative though. Here are some great examples of themed events done right. I wish I was there to see them!

Movie time is a great idea. Everyone can get comfy and you can design the space with all sorts of props.Themed Events

The renaissance theme is also nice for events that are a bit fancier. Look for lots of silver and metal items and romantic flowers for that touch of pretty.Themed Events

For those who love camping and the great outdoors, an outside cookout or sleepover would work really well. Anything nature related can really be an adventure to put together. There are so many possibilities. From woodland and garden to the galaxy, they all could be so much fun!Themed Events
