We are learning all about flowers this week in our nature study! This morning we read some good books, studied the parts and life cycle of daffodils, practiced the letter F and numbers, completed a fun sticker activity, a shape puzzle and some line work. Then we made flowers out of pipe cleaners.

This morning we got a late start but we read more about the plant life cycle, practiced letters and numbers, completed a plant anatomy worksheet, and Elliot did a line work activity. Plants are amazing and learning about them is pretty rad.

Our nature study this week is the plant cycle. We’ve been learning so much about this subject so it’s nice to review, as well as explore a bit more. We started with a book about seeds and beautiful plant cycle cards, then learned about roots, plants that grow underground and what’s inside plants. Elliot also completed a life cycle sheet and painted a sunflower.

Today we are learning all about oak trees! We started by reading about the life cycle and looked through a beautiful book showing the seasonal changes. Then we practiced the letter O and numbers with our count & clip cards, completed a color sheet and a few circle & find worksheets, and also did some line work. For our art sesh we made little acorns out of clay and caps we found last week on our nature hike.

For our afternoon lesson we read some more about oak trees and also looked at a cool book that showed creatures up close. Then Elliot completed a fun dab & dot worksheet for the letter O and we reviewed the anatomy of a tree. That’s a wrap for our spring tree study!
