I have always been animal lover. Having various pets as a child, growing up around them was normal for me. I loved going to the zoo and watching movies about them and when I actually got to pet them and interact, it made my day. It really is no surprise I would be a vegetarian one day, it was just a matter of learning the facts and opening my eyes to what is really happening in this world.

It’s now going on four years and I am so happy I live this way. It has truly helped me to be more open and loving, even more than I was before, and pushed me to try new foods and healthier choices. The main thing this lifestyle has given me is the ability to love animals and the Earth much greater than I ever have. And I believe it will just get stronger as the years go by.

I just wanted to share this awesome feeling and hope to inspire all of you to appreciate the natural world around you as well as all the beautiful creatures living on it. My two dogs, Olive and Jenny, remind me everyday how amazing animals really are. They are my sunshine in the morning and my moon at night. They are loyal, loving, and very sweet. Not to mention, unique in their own ways. I just don’t know what I do without them.

My plan for the future is to have a small farm so I can give a few awesome animals a good home. I would love to have chickens, pigs, and maybe even a cow or two. Goats are pretty cool as well, I’m sure they would bring a little adventure to the group. A tiny pony would be a bonus! And of course I would love to have more dogs. If it wasn’t for my husband, I would have more now. I just love animals so much, I can’t resist wanting to take care of them and making sure they are safe and happy.

So, happy inspiration photo friday! I ask you all to open your eyes and hearts to the world of animals and really see them for what they are, amazing individuals who are just as important as we are. Imagine the world without them for just one minute. To me, that’s hell. And since we are surrounded by such incredible creatures, this surely must be heaven.

I feel we all need a little spring cleaning when the warmer months arrive. And not just during spring, but every few months. So much goes on in our lives and between work or school, family and friends, relationships and marriages, and raising your children, sometimes it seems like its never going to end and time just isn’t on your side. Did you ever think that you are creating too much to do?

I know we are all busy. I, myself have tried to fight the clock to get tons of stuff done and most of the time its work because it seems like I never have time for myself. It’s just not a healthy way to live. Week after week, the same old story. And what is it all for? I certainly don’t have to be as busy as I am. I can spread projects out and just make clients wait for them to get done instead of working by butt off and stressing myself out. This is the one thing I will be “scrubbing away” for my spring cleaning. It may be a good quality in some aspects but in the end, its just hurting me and it has to stop.

It’s funny because most of what hurts us, we create. It’s part of who we are. This is why its essential to pay attention to ourselves and our behavior, to see what needs to be tweaked or changed, and in some cases “scrubbed clean.” Just rid yourself of those layers that simply aren’t helping you. You want to evolve and move forward in life, not be held back by mental messes.

Today in New York, the weather is a little rainy and cool, and the windy air has been busy pushing nature around all morning. I can’t help but find it totally appropriate for my last day of working with clients. My hiatus has finally come. Not only am I sweeping old habits away but Mother Earth herself is cleansing as well. And even though its a little wild outside, the birds are still singing and the day still goes on. With a little dedication and strength, the sun will show her face and shine her warm glow on all of us.

Take some time to redirect your destination and move forward with a smile. Sometimes the path can get a little rocky and we forget who is most important, ourselves. If you can’t be your best self than how you can you be the best for the people you love? Scrub those bad layers off and get to the real you, then focus on what you really want and what you need to do to stay happy. Surround yourself with love and positivity and create a shield so the negative energy can’t affect you. Those bad habits and stresses shall be stripped away for good and a new, reinvented you will be ready to face the day.

As we get older, we should be getting smarter. Learning from experience is the best way to move forward in life. I actually enjoy getting older for this reason. Looking back on my life I am happy and proud of what I have accomplished and where I am today.

Birthdays are supposed to be fun. Celebrating with friends and family is always a good time. It’s crazy, but when you think about it, that person was on this Earth for that long. My husband, Dan, turns 31 today and I am happy to be a part of him getting older. Watching him grow into the man he is today has been interesting. Especially, since I am 2 years older than him. It is now going on 5 years that we are together and he is a great friend as well as an awesome husband, and I love him with all my heart. Even though he can be a pain in the ass sometimes 🙂

So for inspiration, I wanted to remind everyone that birthdays are landmarks for all of us. They become the point in your life when you can look back and see how far you’ve come. Are you happy with where you are? They are also a great time to appreciate how long you or your loved one have been here, in this life. Be happy to be alive and share all the birthday love you have for the occasion. Before you know it, another year will have passed by and another journey begins.

This photo was taken of Dan years ago, one morning after he woke up. It still remains one of my all time favorite photos of him. My sweets ♥

Who hasn’t seen Beetlejuice? The story of this film is one to be remembered. Unique and strange as it is, the characters will make you laugh till you cry. You are sure to be constantly inspired by the original ideas that are expressed and how they are showcased.

Set in the New England countryside, a young couple decide to take the summer and restore/decorate their dream home. Suddenly, they both die in a car crash on the way home but realize they have become the undead. The story plays with the idea of death but with humorous undertone. As time goes by, a new family from New York move in the home with plans to renovate and turn it into a contemporary disaster. The couple try their hardest to scare the New Yorkers away while also deal with the fact that they are indeed dead, even though it feels like they are alive. All the while establishing a relationship with the one person who sees them, the depressed daughter.

Then comes Beetlejuice, who surely doesn’t need an introduction. Once the couple meet him, they gain knowledge about the undead as well as get into some trouble. The adventures are wacky and brilliant while as the same time exposing a dark side of life. I love how the color palette revolves around nature, with light and dark tones used to illustrate the emotion that runs through the film. With a happy ending, the film also tells a tale of friendship and love, which ties in very well with the characters.

This is one film from the past will always be current and sure to make you smile. Pops of color light the way as darker neutrals take you down the comedic depths of death. How can one resist?
